Leading jockey Blake Shinn has predicted a bright future for King Of Enterprise after guiding him to a dominant victory at Pakenham.
He was having his first ride aboard our homebred son of Impending and has no doubt the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained three-year-old can measure up in far stronger company.
“He was ultra impressive and he’s a really big, imposing stye of horse,” Shinn said.
“There is plenty of scope for further development, he put them away pretty quickly and it was a sign of a really good horse.”
The chestnut settled fifth off the rail and lengthened stride in the run home to overwhelm his rivals by three lengths.
His Cranbourne trainers have been patient with the chestnut who finished runner-up on debut last preparation before breaking his maiden and then gave a strong account of himself when fifth behind subsequent Group 1 winner Aeliana in the G3 Carbine Club Stakes.
He was again fifth in his middle-distance debut ahead of a break and was a bold resuming second under 60kg last month before going one better under lights.
King Of Enterprise was sold through BMD Bloodstock’s draft to Busuttin Racing for $90,000 at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale.
He is a son of the unraced High Chaparral mare High Vogue, purchased for 110,000gns on our behalf by agent John Foote at a Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
She is a sister to former champion European 3YO and multiple Group 1 winer Luxembourg, whose half-brother Leo De Fury was successful at Group 2 level and a family boasting an abundance of stakes winners.
High Vogue’s colt by Sword Of State sold for $200,000 to Queensland’s KPB Bloodstock at Karaka earlier this year and she had a filly last season by our Group 1-winning son of Snitzel before another successful return visit.
