The first foals of our high-class shuttle stallion Chaldean have been welcomed in the Northern Hemisphere.
His first arrivals were colts produced by dual stakes winner Paris Peacock, a daughter of Muhaarar, and Redressed, a Group performer by Le Havre and out of a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Midday.
We were delighted to partner with global powerhouse Juddmonte to bring Frankel’s multiple Group 1-winning son to Cambridge Stud and he fittingly served a top book of mares in his debut 2024 season.
Chaldean enjoyed a stellar career and emulated his sire when he became only the ninth colt in the last 50 years to complete the G1 Dewhurst-Guineas double and the only father-son duo to do so.
“His pedigree, with a strong emphasis on two and three-year-old speed, is perfect for our market and racing program,” Cambridge Stud CEO Henry Plumptre said.
“Having a signature Group 1 at two, the Dewhurst Stakes and a three-year-old Classic, the 2000 Guineas, to his name makes him an extremely attractive prospect.
“His sire, Frankel, is currently breaking all records as a stallion and the opportunity to secure his best two-year-old was a significant drawcard for us.”
Chaldean is a son of the Dutch Art mare Suelita, who was successful on four occasions, and is a half-brother to the stakes winners Alkumait, Get Ahead and The Broghie Man.
“With the ongoing support for Frankel and his incomparable statistics as they stand, Cambridge Stud gave us the perfect opportunity to send Chaldean to the Southern Hemisphere where we feel his precociousness and physical type will appeal,” Juddmonte’s UK General Manager Simon Mockridge said.
Chaldean, whose sister sold at last year’s Tattersall’s December Foal Sale for 2,500,000gns, stood his first season with us at $35,000+ GST.
