Consistent three-year-old Class furthered his record at Te Aroha with Te Akau confident the best is still to come.

The Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson-trained gelding accounted for his age group rivals over 1400 metres for his second win from eight starts, that also features five placings.

“He’s going to continue to improve and the Embellishes get better with age as well,” Te Akau Racing Manager Reece Trumper said.

Class was only opposed by three rivals and settled in third spot before hitting the front 300 metres from home and stayed on gamely for rider Ace Lawson-Carroll.

“It was great to see him take a sit and run home strongly. If he keeps thriving then he may have another run,” Trumper said.

Class is out of the Keeper mare Opulent, who was successful on three occasions up to 1600 metres.

She comes from the elite family of champion stallion Redoute’s Choice, Shoals, Desert Lightning and more recent Group I winners Marhoona (Golden Slipper Stakes), Tom Kitten (All Star Mile) and Schwarz (William Reid Stakes).
