Here To Shock produced another heroic performance to claim the thick end of the stake in the inaugural running of the A$1 million Supernova at Pakenham.
The Cambridge Stud graduate took his record to 12 victories from 35 appearances and his eighth at the 1400 metre distance of the feature.
The Ben, Will and JD Hayes-trained Here To Shock cleared the gates quickly to lob along on the leader’s quarters before striking the front 300 metres from home.
The son of Shocking stayed on gallantly under the urgings of rider Daniel Stackhouse to score and take his earnings beyond A$2.4 million.
“He’s an absolute marvel, we had eyes for this race a long way out and that’s why he ran in our slot,” Will Hayes said.
“He loves being in the country environment in the paddocks at Euroa, he just a nice and relaxed horse and we were really happy with him.”
Here To Shock carries the colours of syndicator Slade Bloodstock, who purchased him at Karaka for $70,000.
Bred by the Sunlight Trust, he is out of the Lonhro mare Frescoes and is a half-brother to Listed winner Turn The Ace.
