Almanzor 4YO too powerful

Balance Of Power extended his golden run of form this preparation at Matamata where he demolished his Rating 75 staying opposition.

The Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson-trained son of Almanzor was given a perfect ride by Group 1-winning jockey Rory Hutchings to be in a world of his own at the end of 2000 metres.

The four-year-old coasted along in fourth along the rail before he was into clear air at the top of the straight and lengthened stride impressively to sail home by a length and a-half.

We bred Balance Of Power and sold him through our 2022 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale draft to Te Akau’s David Ellis for $300,000.

He now has a brace of wins and two placings from his last four appearances and has three career victories to his credit and a runner-up finish in the Listed Challenge Stakes as a juvenile.

Balance Of Power is the first foal of the Power mare Respin, successful in an edition of the Listed Inglewood Stakes, and we sold his brother to Ryan & Alexiou Racing and Andrew Williams Bloodstock at Karaka last year for $260,000.

Respin also has a yearling filly by Almanzor and a daughter of Satono Aladdin last season before she visited our new stallion Chaldean.
