Matsu Victor has turned his form around for a boil over victory in Hong Kong.

The son of U S Navy Flag was unplaced when returning from a break and showed the benefit of that outing when he successfully stepped up to 1600 metres at Sha Tin to score at odds of 45-1.

Ridden by Keith Yeung, he is prepared by Francis Lui and has doubled his winning tally after breaking his maiden in September.

We bred Matsu Victor and sold him for $160,000 at NewZealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale in 2022.

He is a son of the Zabeel mare Lazaan, who is back in foalto U S Navy Flag, and is a half-brother to four winners, including the stakesperformer Divine Power.

Lazaan is a daughter of the three-time Group 1 winner Lashed, also the dam of dual winner and multiple black type placegetter Marchand, and the family of the Group 1-winning half-siblings Shogun Lodge, Singing The Blues and Referral.
