Progressive four-year-old Mister Fletcher dug deep at theend of 1400 metres to maintain his perfect record on his home turf at Waverley.

The son of Almanzor completed two course and distance winson the bounce for co-breeder, part-owner and trainer Bill Thurlow.

What he may lack in size, Mister Fletcher makes up for indetermination and after disputing much of the pace, he rallied strongly in thestraight for rider Lily Sutherland to repel her Rating 65 rivals.

“I’m so proud of the little fellow, to win back-to-back isvery good,” Thurlow said.

“The race panned out how we thought and he’s very tough anddoesn’t mind the cut in the ground.”

Mister Fletcher is the first winner for the Captain Rio mareMidnight Delight who is a half-sister to the multiple Group winnerUnderthemoonlight, dam of the G1 Levin Classic winner Romancing The Moon.

There is also an international flavour to the family withthe G1 Santa Anita Derby winner Midnight Interlude on the page.

Midnight Delight also has an unraced two-year-old son byAlmanzor’s associate stallion Hello Youmzain named Landman.
