First-timer Livalittle showed an abundance of tenacity to make the perfect start to his career at the Sunshine Coast.
Prepared by leading trainer Tony Gollan, the three-year-old had won a Gold Coast trial a month ago and impressively carried that form over to race day with a first-up success over 1200 metres.
We bred and race the son of The Autumn Sun who was caught wide in the early stages from his outside gate before settling on the leader’s quarters.
He was headed after hitting the front 300 metres from home but then answered every call from rider Angela Jones to rally strongly and score by a length.
Livalittle is a son of the Thorn Park mare Hayley Grace, who was successful on two occasions up to 1600 metres.
She is a half-sister to the G2 Waikato Gold Cup winner Bak Da Chief, dam of the two-time Group 1 winner Te Akau Shark and also the family of the G1 Easter Handicap winner Pondarosa Miss.
Hayley Grace has a yearling filly by Turn Me Loose and last season produced a colt by Embellish.
