Progressive mare Frostfair will be given the opportunity to continue her golden run of form in black type company at her next appearance.
The daughter of Written Tycoon completed a hat-trick of wins for us in stellar fashion at Ellerslie on New Year’s Day when she comfortably put away her Rating 75 rivals over 1400 metres.
“She’s going from strength to strength and she’s a very big mare who has matured with age,” trainer Lance Noble said.
“She’ll head to the Westbury Classic (G2, 1400m) next on Karaka Millions night.”
Frostfair loped along in fourth spot in the clear for regular jockey Warren Kennedy and with minimum persuasion the four-year-old let down strongly in the straight to claim major honours again.
“She’s put three together now, which isn’t easy to do,” Noble said.
“She’s a really genuine mare and Warren rode her in trackwork and he was pretty confident.”
Frostfair is out of our Commands mare Thames Court, a gifted performer whose three victories featured the G3 Alexandra Stakes.
A daughter of the stakes winner Pantenny, Thames Court’s Capitalist filly sold for $200,000 to Stephen Gray, Wattle Bloodstock and Toking at Karaka earlier this year.
