Diss Is Dramatic has earned a return to stakes company following her convincing victory at Hastings. The Cambridge Stud graduate won her fourth race when she accounted for the Rating 75 metric milers off the back of her encouraging first-up run for fifth on the opening day of the Hawke’s Bay carnival.“She holds a nomination for the G3 Coupland’s Bakeries Mile so we’ll pick a path there and we may look at the G3 Thompson Handicap next,” trainer Lisa Latta said.Diss Is Dramatic has already made her mark at black type level at Riccarton with victories in the G3 War Decree Stakes and the Listed Champagne Stakes. The four-year-old lobbed along in third spot off the fence at Hastings and forged clear for rider Joe Doyle after challenging 200 metres from home.“She won very well after we got into a good spot and she picked up really well,” Doyle said.We bred and sold Diss Is Dramatic and congratulations to Albert Bosma’s Go Racing who purchased her out of our 2021 draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale. She is a daughter of the Darci Brahma mare Our Drahma Queen, a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Suavito, and her Almanzor colt was bought by DGR Thoroughbred Services and John Thompson Racing for $180,000 at Karaka earlier this year.
