The Symon Wilde-trained Navy King ventured into the unknown at Hamilton and it all proved plain sailing for the progressive three-year-old.He made it two wins on the bounce when our homebred son of U S Navy Flag was successful over 1200 metres to remain unbeaten this preparation. It was the first time Navy King had stepped out beyond 1000 metres and he handled it with aplomb, breaking quickly from the barrier to lead and stayed on strongly under Dean Yendall for his second win from four outings. We sold Navy King to Wilde Racing for A$90,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Yearling Sale and his dam is the O’Reilly mare Eliza Blues who is currently in foal to Sword Of State.A half-sister to the G3 Marton Metric Mile winner Old Belvedere, Eliza Blues won two races and finished runner-up in the G1 Queensland Oaks and is a direct female descendant of the multiple Group 1 winner Canterbury Belle.Leading trainer Ciaron Maher purchased Eliza Blues’ Almanzor filly, named Victory Blues, at Karaka last year for $65,000.
