Bella Waters is making up for lost time with the promising start she has made to her career. The four-year-old finished an eye-catching debut fourth at Tauranga last month and our home-bred daughter of Sacred Falls followed up at Ruakaka with a second-up victory.Trained for us by Moira and Kieran Murdoch, Bella Waters appreciated the step up to 1400 metres and was capably handled by Bridget Grylls. She settled three back on the fence before angling into the clear across the top and held a sustained finish to open her winning account.Bella Waters is out of the Pivotal mare But Beautiful, who won three races up to 1600 metres in England, and she has a yearling filly by Hello Youmzain headed to Karaka early next year. But Beautiful is a half-sister to the European stakes winners Ayrad and Dawn Of Hope and their second dam Fire The Groom was successful in the G1 Arlington Park Beverley D Stakes. She is the dam of the dual Group 1 winner Stravinsky, who sired six top-flight winners during his tenure at Cambridge Stud.
