Almanzor four-year-old Settat turned his fortunes around with a dashing performance at Hamilton. Our homebred had been under par in his previous two outings but bounced back in style for trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young with a cracking effort over 1400 metres.Settat settled back of midfield away from the fence and once into the clear at the top of the straight, he thundered home in the hands of Linda Meech to win for the second time in eight appearances. He was purchased out of our weanling draft at Karaka for $42,000 by John Corcoran and was then sold by Grangewilliam Stud at the Ready to Run Sale for $220,000 to Busuttin Racing and Andrew Campbell Bloodstock. He is a son of the Fastnet Rock mare Sure Enough and we sold Settat’s sister to Queensland’s KPW Bloodstock at Karaka earlier this year for $150,000.The dam has since produced a filly and a colt by Reliable Man and is due to foal to U S Navy Flag.
