Our homebred Navy King capped off the bright start he has made to his career with a convincing first victory at just his third start.The son of U S Navy Flag had finished runner-up at Warrnambool earlier this month and he had no trouble going one better 1000 metres at Camperdown for trainer Symon Wilde and rider Dean Yendall.The three-year-old sat on the leader’s quarters before taking control at the top of the straight and forged clear to score by two and a-half lengths.We sold Navy King to Wilde Racing for A$90,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Yearling Sale and he’s out of the O’Reilly mare Eliza Blues.She is a half-sister to the G3 Marton Metric Mile winner Old Belvedere and won two races and finished runner-up in the G1 Queensland Oaks. Their third dam is the multiple Group 1 winner Canterbury Belle. Leading trainer Ciaron Maher purchased Eliza Blues’ Almanzor colt at Karaka last year for $65,000.

Cambridge Stud graduate Actaeon continued his purple patch of form with further success on the Hillside course at Sandown.The son of the late Tavistock was a gallant victor over 1600 metres for trainer Symon Wilde and now has three wins from his last four starts.“He’s just an improving horse, he can still do a bit wrong and he did a bit of work early and was really tough late,” stable representative Ben Casanelia said.Actaeon was caught wide on the pace from an outside gate before rider Jordan Childs let the four-year-old stride to the front.He travelled comfortably at the head of affairs and wasn’t to be denied in the straight, digging deep under his 60kg to deny his opposition.“He began okay and the plan was to be forward, but when I couldn’t slot in we had to push on and he got into a good rhythm,” Childs said.“He relaxed and when the other horse headed him, he came back strongly.”Actaeon was bred by Andrew Bryant and David Armstrong under their Andari banner and was purchased out of our 2021 Karaka draft for $30,000 by part-owner Wilde with John White Bloodstock and Pinhook Bloodstock and is a brother to the G2 Championship Stakes winner Tavidream.Their dam is the King Of Kings mare Cinnadream, who has a yearling filly by Almanzor selling as lot 658 in New Zealand Bloodstock's Book 1 Yearling Sale.

Dawla gave her rivals a start and a beating when she made a successful return to racing at Wyong.The Cambridge Stud-bred and sold daughter of Almanzor was making her first appearance for five months and the Brad Widdup-trained representative doubled her winning tally with a strong resuming performance over 1200 metres.In the hands of apprentice Zac Wadick, Dawla settled at the back of the field before circling runners near the turn and the four-year-old produced a sustained finish to win for the second time in her brief career.“She came into the race with dapples all over and Zac rode her perfectly,” stable representative Rosie Jilla said.“The one thing we said to him was to give her plenty of room. She likes to roll into it and she was too good.” Dawla was purchased out of our draft at Karaka for $70,000 with agent Phill Cataldo and Honeycomb Bloodstock signing the ticket.She is out of the unraced Lucky Unicorn mare Satisfact who is a half-sister to the multiple Group 1-winning siblings St Reims and Champagne.
