Perfectmanz is from a family we know well and he earned a gold star for bravery at Wanganui with a courageous performance to break his maiden.A son of our shuttle stallion Almanzor, we race his brother Holymanz who is a multiple winner and finished runner-up in last season’s G3 CS Hayes Stakes.Perfectmanz was stepping up to a middle distance off the back of a debut fifth over 1400 metres earlier this month and he showed he had a bright staying future with a top performance.Trained by Shaun Phelan for breeders Jamieson Park, Perfectmanz was caught three wide early before he went to the head of affairs early in the back straight.The three-year-old was given no peace in front, but answered every call of jockey Jonathan Parkes to kick clear in the run home and comfortably hold his older rivals at bay.Perfectmanz is out of the Dubawi mare Perfect Offering, who was successful three times and is a half-sister to the stakes winner and Group placegetter My Country.
