Sparkling run from Embellish 3YO10 Jul 2024

The Andrew Forsman-trained Sparkles broke her maiden in style on her home all-weather track at Cambridge.

The daughter of our resident Group 1-winning stallion Embellish was due a change of fortune after having no favours at her previous appearance and she duly romped home over 1550 metres.

Sparkles, who had been out of the frame at Te Rapa where she was held up in the running, was away cleanly to settle three back on the outer for rider Warren Kennedy.

The three-year-old made a quick move 600 metres from home to be in front at the top of the straight and then surged clear to score by 2.3l.

Sparkles is raced by co-breeder the Luv A Long Lunch Syndicate, who were given every reason to celebrate following their filly’s breakthrough success.

She is out of the now retired Mossman mare Vibrant Moss, who won on three occasions up to 1200 metres, and all three of her foals to race have been winners.
