Tavistock’s son Wononeohwon created a good impression during a handful of starts in New Zealand with three wins and a placing and he’s now opened his Hong Kong account.
Johnno Benner and Hollie Wynyard guided him through the early stages of his career before he was sold to a client of Frankie Lor’s stable.
Renamed Ready To Win, he broke through for his new connections at Sha Tin with victory in Class 3 company over 1200 metres for rider Derek Leung.
He was originally purchased out of our Karaka draft in 2018 for $40,000 by agent Phill Cataldo and Jen Campin Bloodstock.
Ready To Win is a son of the Zabeel mare Sursum Corda, who was successful five times and finished runner-up in the G1 New Zealand Oaks. She has done an excellent job in the broodmare role with nine of her 11 foals to race successful.
Sursum Corda is a sister to the multiple Group 1 winners St Reims and Champagne and also the immediate family of the G1 New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes winner Charmont.
Further back in the pedigree is the three-time Group 1 winner and former New Zealand Horse of the Year Bonneval.
